Group vs Retail income protection: Providing clarity amid product perplexity

The changing face of the income protection industry will result in new disability income products from October 2021, which may appear more comparable with group salary continuance products of today. What will this mean for advice and income protection product selection? Will greater recommendations for group super disability policies be the norm?

This session explores key differences across retail and group insurance and uncovers policy insights that can help advisers not only navigate the myriad of changes but ultimately direct clients to a best interest outcome with greater clarity and confidence.

IDII – Revolution and advice considerations

The new IDII changes make seeking quality risk advice more important than ever before. The income protection products in Australia developed into the most generous and best in the world. This product design and resulting claims experience is the major factor driving price volatility, dramatically impacting client affordability.

Income protection is the core risk strategy, the new less generous IDII products present the challenge of how to construct a comprehensive risk strategy, the types and levels of cover you recommend, complimenting the new IDII products.
